About Bedian Spins

Bedian Spins is the name of an amateur cricket team based in Lahore, Pakistan. The ground is named after the team.

Originally a Bamboo crop field, which was later converted to an open cricket ground in 2014. After complete laser leveling of the area, Pitch clay was imported from Nandipur and is still imported almost every year to maintain quality. Professional pitch curators were hired from renowned grounds to prepare the pitches. Clay for three pitches was installed in the start but only 2 pitches are used now.

The boundaries from the center of a standard cricket pitch are 56 and 58 meters towards “Point” and “Square Leg” respectively. The straight boundaries however are placed at 70 meters, yet are still extendable.

The ground is located only 4 km ahead of Midland Housing Scheme (Sua Asil Road) and 10.5 km ahead from Elite Police Training School (Bedian Road). The village is called Rorha Boghan. Bedian Spins team now has over 60 members that play for us plus over 500 members affiliated with us from visiting teams.

Back in 2014 the cricket ground facility was started with the aim to encourage and support local villagers to engage in a healthy sports activity. Our vision however remains, to develop a Multi-Sports Facility to provide a sense of place to the local and distant community. If we could help improve the physical and emotional life of any athlete and harness the power of sport to inspire positive social change, that would be a big achievement for us.

In the past 7 years we have slowly and steadily developed our cricket facility. As a cricket club we are able to offer decent level of cricket games thanks to the support of volunteers from our considerate friends in the squad.

We are proud of the fact that since 2020 we have been able to host cricket throughout the year due to the newly installed Light Poles & LED Flood Lights. An astonishing achievement considering that it has all been done without the help of government or any major sponsor.
